Macau is fast overtaking its rival Hong Kong as the fastest-growing area for residential hotel and retail property prices.
One of the largest projects is the US$2.1 billion City of Dreams being built by Leighton Asia, China State and John Holland, on behalf of the Melco PBL development company - owned by Lawrence Ho’s Melco gambling company and James Packer’s Crown group.

I must say after seeing a few of the newer casinos again in Macau that the Grand Lisboa Casino is definitely the most beautiful looking casino, this is both inside and outside, in town. Behind a dropback of clear blue skies, this is a building to behold!

Just seeing the sight of this building from many different locations, is just a sight to behold. Dr Stanley Ho definitely is on a sure winner here and during our visit there the casino floors were packed! Also his lobby interiors are just awesome, just have a look at this picture below to believe it!

It was too good an opportunity for Stanley Ho to ignore.
When the Macao gaming tycoon’s arch-rival, Sheldon Adelson, chairman and chief executive of Las Vegas Sands Corp., sacked 160 dealers at the Sands Macao in November for not being up to snuff, Ho was quick to take advantage.
He invited the former Sands dealers to apply for jobs, declaring that “it is our duty of care to the Macao community to employ quality, talented local Macao residents and to nurture them for a long and successful career with our company.”

You must give it to the Dr Stanley Ho who is a healthy 85-year old and still is calling the shots in Macau. He just opened two casinos in the last two months, first in December 2006, the Babylon Casino followed yesterday by The Grand Lisboa. If that is not enough he is hoping to follow up with Ponte 16 Casino later this year as he wants to give the foreign invasion a run for their money, well I guess we just have to wait and see!
But, meanwhile at his palatial homes across Hong Kong, he bows to his wives.
