February 6, 2007Macau’s chief executive, Edmund Ho, has said the visit of Portuguese Prime Minister José Sócrates to the territory will strengthen existing friendly relations with Lisbon and also increase the enclave’s importance as a trade and investment platform.
“Macau can be a platform for Portugal in its relations with China. With his (Sócrates’) visit, we are certain that relations between Lisbon and Beijing will be stimulated and developed,” Ho said Saturday after talks with the visiting Portuguese leader.
January 17, 2007Update 1 | A statement has been made that the height of the new building for the Central Government’s Liaison Office in Macau is being adjusted. The new building located at the foot of the Guia Hill, came under heavy criticism as it’s height was going to block the view of the Guia Lighthouse. The statement said that the building will be re-designed so that the new height will not obscure the Guia Lighthouse.

It is casinos like Wynn Macau, Grand Lisboa and Galaxy Grand Waldo are building their casinos with total disregards to Macau’s height restrictions! At the one hand they want to encourage tourism, whilst on the other hand anything goes!
November 25, 2006The Macau Grand Prix Committee announced a record attendance for the event that included the 53rd Macau Grand Prix, the 40th Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix and the WTCC Guia Race of Macau.
Over 40,000 spectators crowded the grandstands during the four days, and furthermore over 200,000 people watched the Macau Grand Prix from their hotel rooms, their flats and from restaurants’ terraces around the track.
