10th Million Visitor Walks Through Venetian Macao’s Doors

The Venetian Macao yesterday welcomed its 10 millionth visitor, in just 169 Days since its grand opening in August last year. While planning to have a holiday in ,  Yu Zhi Hui from Shanghai was ushered by the management team to the podium of the Great Hall and presented with prizes including two nights  complimentary stay in a luxurious suite, and a pair of 24K gold rats.

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome our 10 millionth visitor to The Venetian in less than six month’s time from our opening. We wish the lucky guest an enjoyable and memorable stay with us  said Mark Brown, president of Sands Macao.

Macau is Bigger Than Las Vegas

Figures due this week are expected to show that is bigger than Las Vegas. The former Portuguese enclave in China raked in US$10.4 billion in gaming winnings in 2007, virtually matching the 2006 take for Clark County, the Nevada jurisdiction that includes Las Vegas and surrounding areas.

If misses in the 2007 data, it’s only a matter of time before it leaves Las Vegas twinkling in its rearview mirror. already far outearns the famous Las Vegas Strip, even though the Strip has a 50% advantage in the number of both visitors and casinos. Minimum bets in the Chinese territory usually set at HK$100 (US$12.85), compared with a less than US$1 in some Vegas locations, allow to take in far more per customer and per table than Las Vegas.

Adelson Says No More New Casino Concessions in Macau

Here is an interesting observation by David McKee from LasVegasAdvisor.com saying that Dr ’s days are numbered. Well we are not so sure if we can agree with him on that one!

Toward the bottom of an otherwise run-of-the-mill report on Las Vegas Sands‘ year-end numbers, Sands supremo Sheldon Adelson lets fly with a bombshell: Not only will there be no new casino concessions in 2009, when Chief Executive Edmund Ho leaves office, there will be fewer. (Bad news for Harrah’s, this. They’re really banking on a new round of concessions and, perhaps, subconcessions too.)

Not only did we bring it here we leave here with a new champion with his eyes set on one of the World Champions! Musumeci was on cloud nine following the lopsided Unanimous Decision scored by Heavyweight contender Derric Rossy over Ray Mercer at the Venetian Macao in China last night.
