“It’s about offering low, ultra low fares, and we are starting off with a promotional event designed to promote Macau and the airline until end-January,” as Andrew Pyne, CEO of Viva Macau told the press recently.
The new low-fare, carrier will also extend the HK$88 offer to scheduled flights going to Jakarta, Indonesia. A trip to the Maldives however, will cost HK$888 one way.
“We will be the only airline to fly non-stop to the Maldives, and flying from Macau only takes 6.5 hours versus 12 hours from Singapore. It is a real savings in terms of time and cost to fly from Macau,” Pyne said.
Viva Macau is scheduled to fly to Phuket, Thailand on 16 December; Jakarta, Indonesia on 18 December and Male, Maldives on 21 December. The carrier will fly to the Maldives twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays.
