Two new airlines to operate this year

Two new airlines based in Macau is expected to begin operations within this year.
Lo Chi Wai (???), Acting Deputy General Manager of Air Macau, told Macao Daily News that Air Macau has reached sub-concession agreements with Golden Dragon and VIVA Macau, and were approved by the Civil Aviation Authority last month.
According to the agreement, VIVA Macau will operate 15 routes to Milan, Maldives, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Abu Dhabi, Hawaii, Myanmar, Lisbon, Nepal, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
Meanwhile, Golden Dragon will operate eight mainland Chinese and international routes, including Nanning, Shijiazhuang, Nanchang, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Changsha, Jinan and Hohhot, as well as Hanoi and Phnom Penh.
She pointed out that the new airliners will still have to apply for approval to operate the routes, although they can team up their fleet now.
Meanwhile, another airliner, the Macau Asia Express, has just been given its official name in Chinese, and the management team is being built.
