Macau’s Great Food

As we always seem to get news about Casino’s, its good the get reports about Macau’s heritage and food. Today we have the lastest report by Bloomberg on the great Macao restaurants for those fanatic food buffs.
In a city fueled by greed and lust, gluttony seems a minor- league sin. Yet Macanese food is fabulous. The mix of Macau’s colonial past and majority Cantonese population produces good food at every budget, from five-star casino fare to street-side snacks.
Unless you’ve lost everything at the blackjack table, there’s no excuse not to dine at Fernando’s. The seaside restaurant, tucked away on the former pirate island of Coloane, serves Portuguese food that delights with its home-cooked simplicity.Clams, stewed in a tomato-and-wine sauce with smashed garlic, were succulent and plump; four sardines with salt crystals on their sides came perfectly grilled with a side of vinegar-doused onion-and-capsicum salad. Bread, piping hot from the open kitchen, was daubed with Portuguese olive oil. The Portuguese vegetable soup was a tad bland, and mealy with undercooked potato bits, but nothing the kitchen couldn’t fix in five minutes.
