According to the president of the Council for Chinese Affairs, Lai Shin Yuan, an organisation that works with the relations between China and Taiwan, Taiwan wishes to increase official contact with Hong Kong and Macau.

This is part of their policy to increase relations within the Strait of Taiwan in general politics.

Taiwan intends to create an agreement to suspend visas for Macau residents to be able to travel to Taiwan without a visa.

As well, they intend to open official offices in both Hong Kong and Macau in the near future.
