Macau was again on the wrong end of a high score, with India winning the first match of the day 26-8. India lined up with a number of the players who had started previous games on the bench. Despite the changes, they followed a similar pattern to their first two matches, starting with gusto and scoring mainly from running in shots made by their quick female players. Somlata running in to score off the very first pass in what must have been among the quickest goals ever in international korfball.
Effective work under the korf by big guys Pardeep and Anil was again the cornerstone of India’s strategy. Consolation out of this match for Macau was their second half performance, coming from 16-1 behind to score a credible seven second half goals with Io Kei Chek contributing four. Top scorer for India was Sushant with six, while Shalini and Somlata scored five each.
