Chelsea FC Arrival Delayed But Game Still Played Tonight

The flight carrying members of the Chelsea Football Club which was scheduled to arrive in Macau yesterday morning but was delayed for over seven hours, however the football challenge today will not be affected.

The Chelsea Asia Tour 2008-Windsor Arch Cup- Macau International Football Challenge, should not have any alternations, and will still be played today at 20:00 pm at Macau Stadium.

Notwithstanding facing a world-renowned football team, the coach of the Chengdu Blades Football Club said at the press conference yesterday that they would try their best to provide more attacks during the match, the MDT reports.

LiBing, the coach of the Chengdu Blades Football Club (CBFC), said that the team hoped to exchange more experiences with Chelsea during the game in Macau.

LiTie, one of the players of the Chengdu Club who had previously played football matches in England, said that he would prefer playing Manchester United rather than Chelsea.

“It is because Manchester does more attacking,” he said. Regarding the football challenge today, the coach of the CBFC said that they would mainly work on defence, however would consider attack launches if there possessed the odds.

Deco, one of the players of the Chelsea FC admitted that he had not performed well at the Guangzhou, China football challenge.

“It might be due to the reason of it being the first play in Asia after landing. I do hope that I can perform better in the game [tomorrow]” said Deco.

Joe Cole, another Chelsea football player who was resting with an ankle injury, might also not debut at the game tomorrow, said Luiz Scolari, Chelsea’s coach.

He added that Cole would arrive and watch the match, but not play during the game in Macau.
Peter Kenyon, chief executive of Chelsea FC, said that the Asia tour had been a long term commitment with China in particular, in order to support the football development in Asia.

The press conference at Grand Lisboa presented LiBing, the coach of Chengdu Blades Football Club (CBFC), Litie, a player of the Chengdu Club and Wangchong, another Chengdu player. On the other hand, the Chelsea FC was presented by Peter Kenyon, chief executive of the Club, Luiz Scolari, the coach and Deco, one of the most popular Chelsea players.
