Oceanus Casino to Start Construction in June 2008?

As we mentioned earlier back in November 2007, Oceanus Casino Project Getting Ready to Kick Off >>, we just received a snippet of news that the interim New Yaohan department store will be opening in May 2008 on the Lot One site in Nam Van Lake opposite to the old Judicial Court. The mall has a foot print of 1,900 square meters and will be a ten-storey mall.
So it looks like that the massive Oceanus Casino project can start the demolition works of the old New Yaohan store around June, and also prepare for the imminent close down and demolition of the Darling Massage Parlour and the Jai Alai Casino buildings.
New Yaohan will be back at it’s original location when Oceanus opens, probably in 2012. Since New Yaohan was taken over by STDM | SJM (the owner of Oceanus) in the late 90s, business has grown “steadily” by about 20% each year.
