Macau, James Packer And Fireworks

Written on December 11, 2006 by admin

James Packer’s Melco PBL missed out on the Singapore Casino bid. This is not a surprise really as I always believed that Genting was going to be the winner. After all this is Asia and Singapore must have seriously considered this. I always have believed that James Packer should turn his Burswood Casino into a first class destination resort. The Asians love Australia and Perth is only a 5-7 hours flight away.

The hot topic in town is the arrest of ’s Secretay of Transport and Public Works, Mr Ao Man Long. He was to spend his 50th birthday in Coloane prison, whilst awaiting further charges. With all this huge multi billion dollar projects going on in booming , there is a lot at stake for businesses. The Secretary was involved in the infrastructure and development project for the East Asian Games. I suspect a dispute was the cause for his arrest.

If you love spectacular fireworks displays that is the place to be this month.

The first one is starting of with the opening on December 15, 2006, of the remodelled and expanded Tryst Nightclub at Wynn . There will be a Water Fountain show topped of by a Fireworks Display in front of the casino, followed by a huge party.

On December 20, 2006, we have the Macau SAR Establishment Day starting of with a 8.00am ceremony, topped of with a Fireworks Display at 9.00PM on the shorefront of Tower.

Fisherman’s Wharf is to celebrate it’s official opening on December 23, 2006. Even though it has had a disappointing start with only 10 million visitors instead of the expected 20 million visitors, in will have a parade and Fireworks Display. To our surprise as the earlier planned opening was early 2007, the Babylon Casino is also expected to open on the same night.

This will be topped of by traditional Fireworks Displays on Christmas and New Years eve.

, I am lovin’ it!
