Grand Waldo Casino, the first casino at Cotai, opened 22 May 2006

Galaxy Entertainment group opened Grande Waldo Casino on May 22nd. This will be Macau’s 21st casino. It is located on the west of Cotai Strip, facing Hengqin Island (Mainland China of Zhuhai municipal). It is located next to the Grand Waldo Hotel. According to reports, the group (one of the 3 licensed concessionaires) plans to open 2 more casino's: one in August this year and the other around 2008. The Grand Waldo Casino has a gross floor area of nearly 120,000 sq. ft., with exclusive exterior and interior décor, providing customers with an unrivalled casino experience. The main gaming hall of the casino, with a ceiling height of over 50 ft., is designed with a “Flying Goddess” motif. Sculptures of the goddess welcome every guest to the casino with her smiling face and her wings open, giving the warmest blessing to all guests. There are also four gigantic LCD display panels located around the corners of the casino, providing the most exciting 360-degree visual experience to customers.

A total of 168 gaming tables are available, of which 67 are VIP tables.

The Grand Waldo Hotel contains 318 rooms of five-star standard, and two presiential suite.

The leisure centre has a spa occupying a total area of 200,000 sq. metres, the largest in Macau. The capacity of the spa is 1,500. A night clubs, a sauna parlour, a cinema and children's game rooms are also available.
